Carefully but boldly reconstructing an ensemble of historical buildings, Nikita Yavein turned a former livery yard that used to belong to the Great Prince Mikhail Nikolaevich into a large academic complex. Now it looks half like a palace, half like a European university.

Cannelure of the Minimalist
The voluminous construction of this residential complex reacts to the structure of the city fabric, while the geometry of its facades - to the creative search of mature modernism, although the allusions are presented in a contemporary way, with keen attention to detail.

The almost theatrical scenography, mechanisms of modern architecture and nostalgia for mansions are combined in this house so unobtrusively and subtly that one even breathes more freely around it.

Neo-House
This is something new. Admittedly, only church architects are not frightened by the neo-Russian style. But Engeny Gerasimov has taken up the challenge and proposed a modern version of a housing estate à la russe to the center of St. Petersburg, combining “pseudo” and “neo” modern techniques.
