On “Arabia-Expo” exhibition organized in Moscow in autumn, architects from A.Asadov’s studio showcased their most fantastic projects, including those designed for the Middle East. One of them is the conceptual project “Aerohotel”, a parking station for flying hotel-dirigible. It will be placed in the height of a 14-story building over the Persian Gulf.

More than an office
It is a very neat and small building. In spring it was miniature by Moscow standards, and now it is a perfect fit as it is time of such constructions: neat and not ambitious. At the same time the project is not at all plain, and to see how those qualities merge in a single construction, we are going to consider more closely.

Stella Maris
Stella Maris house completed last year and marked by a number of awards, is now nominated for House of the Year 2009 from Petersburg award. Looking at this house, we reasoned that, Peter the Great would, possibly, like such idea of Petersburg’s contextualism

The house which harmonizes contrasts
This house by the sea already has five different diplomas, newest of them is the golden diploma of "Zodchestvo"-2008. Such attention is not surprising: looking at this complex one will see that its architecture is not only charged by meanings, it easily applies techniques of the two opposite styles. Within a single ensemble the authors managed to harmonize techniques of the classics and modernism – a risky course, but in the end there is an austere, but harmonious image

The turning houses
Architects of PAM Vissarionov designed a residential complex for Volgograd in the shape of two elliptical towers, volumes of which look like they have been constructed of platforms pinned onto a single core and turned at different angles.

The Anatomy of a City
Contest project of a block city around former airdrome in Kazan, designed by the architects of Asadov's studio, is built on the idea that a city is a living body – its city blocks remind biological "cells" thread on an axis of curved avenue

Silicon park in Siberia
Architectural concept of specific economical zone in Tomsk, completed by architects from ABD early this year, summarizes experience of construction of offices and business-parks which is considerable in this architectural company. From the combination of this experience and urban-planning task there shaped a "park of high technologies”, which combines capabilities of a fine modern office and popular today architecture with the old good idea of a garden-city

Framework house
On Nahimovsky avenue there will be constructed an office building in which its authors, architects from ABD, pushed together the two grounds – office style and stone-brick context. There appeared rough but irregular trellis-net with a glass volume and trees sprouting on its roof inside.

Faster and faster it’s running
More and more new office centres are now located not far away from MKAD. It is quite spacious here, and the architect had a chance "to play" with large forms, not worrying how they will fit into the urban development. The context – observers as well – here will be cars passing by at high speed. Seemingly, this suggested the architectural solution of the administrative and business complex on the first kilometer of Rublevo-Uspenskoe highway. It shaped…even romantic

Crystal structure
This building is like a huge crystal which is developing under the inner rules set by the module of its crystal structure. This allows it react quickly on all the restrictions of location, not changing and not losing its crystal appearance

In the context of modernism
Vissarionov’s PAM have developed another "resort" project – a modernist residential complex for "Mamaika” area in Sochi. Three buildings which look like boomerangs on the plan, are placed up on terrace plateau-stylobate and are covered with “cellular cloths”

Gates to the other side
For a few years now Kutuzovsky prospect has been growing in its height: "Edelweiss", “Miraks-plaza”, there emerge foundation ditches for realization the concept of overlapping of the Kiev railway. Though there are no clear results of the contest, organized by Moskomarchitecture in 2006, there are real construction works are being executed. Among them there is also the project of a hotel and business complex on the crossing of Poklonnaya street and 1812 goda street, designed by the studio of Pavel Andreev

The tamed whirlwind
Recently the architectural bureau ADM has been working on rather complex and unusual project – reconstruction of a commercial apartment building of the beginning of 20th century into ultra-modern "A" class office building. The main difficulty is requirement to save the historical façade while full changing of the "inside" according to the last technical requirements. Uniqueness is in treatment of "modern part", in the very core of which there is hidden curved and sparkling with different colors glass atrium.

The two brothers
A. Asadov’s studio has been developing projects of the two retail and business complexes, in Tumen and Lipetsk. The have similar typologies, both consist of a retail centre and office tower, and their images are different: one is sharp, angular, mobile, the second is composed and quiet, plastery, compact. As though they are the two brothers with different characters

A genre transformation
This spring in Strogino there was completed construction of the two towers of “Yantarny gorod” [Amber City] by Dmitry Aleksandrov, the other two are under construction. After the first part of construction was completed it appeared that the houses have not only unique inner structure of multileveled atriums but peculiar for our times very physical texture
