"Python House" - a project done by PANACOM Bureau - became the prize winner of the PinWin competition in the nomination "Best Modern Interior". This architectural solution of a country house - bright and unconventional - stands up against the traditional villa style of the houses of the settlement of "Nikolskaya Sloboda" located at the Novorizhskoe Highway.

When this project was only beginning seven years ago, everybody's preferences were on the side of neo-classics and other "neo"-transformations. "We placed our bet on geometry and we won" - shares Arseny Leonovich one of the authors of "Python House". The house is asymmetric and it looks totally different from every side. From a certain vantage point (view of the main facade), it looks like a curled up python.

The entrance area smoothly flows into a double-height "studio" living room, makes a U-turn in the "loft" library, moves along the children's rooms and ends in the volume of the master's bedroom that overhangs above the entrance. The unique architectural solution is dictated by the inner logic of the volume development, as well as by the very pentagon configuration of the land plot.

The construction is based on a reinforced concrete monolith. The rhythmic pattern of the facades is based on the contrast between large transparent glazed sections and blind walls dressed in vertical boards and wild stone. At the underground floor, there are maintenance premises and a large swimming pool with two sun tubes.

On the borders of the land plot, there are two small structures: the maintenance building with a garage and a security point, and a spa complex with a lounge and an open-air terrace that overlooks the creek located nearby. It can also be seen from the windows of all the bedrooms at the second floor. Wide underground galleries connect all the three structures into a single complex.

With its jagged angles, and rather of a diamond shape, the plan of the house revealed the geometry as the core theme of the interior design of "Python House". Its symbol and embodiment is the chimney shaft clad, like in a stocking, into a decorative mesh with diamond-shaped cells.

Arseny Leonovich shares: "Initially, we were planning to dress it all into metal, wooden panels, and stone - but it all seemed hackneyed, and had no life in it. We wanted more energy in motion". And now the energy is really brimming over. The plastic volumes, the daring mix of differently styled interior designs, the exquisite color palette with bright accents, and the diversity of the ornaments - all stands up to the creative nature of the owners of the house that are always open to experiment. So it is not by chance that one will hardly be able to find in this house any standard objects of a rank-and-file type.

The furniture project of "Python" is the result of subtle and painstaking selection work. The furniture collection was selected not from the catalogues of the world-famous brands but from the galleries and antique shops of European capitals. Some pieces of furniture, for example, the L-shaped kitchen island or some of the lights were developed by Arseny Leonovich and the team of PANACOM specifically for this project.
