Butterfly on Novy Arbat
- contemporary architecture
A project of the hotel complex Butterfly designed by “Bogachkin & Bogachkin” bureau distinguished by the “Gold Mark” at the festival Zodchestvo-2015
Architect:Vyacheslav Bogachkin; ;
The object is intended for the center of Moscow – an area in Pryamoy lane, near Novy Arbat. By design of the authors, their work continues the tradition of accented development, characteristic of this area. Besides, the building facing the lane with its façade is supposed to restore the perimeter development of its block.
Location in the central part of the capital has determined the “presentability” of the facades solution: they are made of stone and patinated copper. This metal is used for the “wing” with the images of butterflies that gave name to the hotel: it projects into the space of the lane drawing the attention of the citizens.
The main entrance to the hotel is arranged through the narrow two-storey atrium leading to a gallery with café tables. The insolation analysis of the site dictated idea of the inner-yard with a branchy tree growing inside of it and shadowing the area.
There are 49 rooms in the hotel, each with a French balcony and a small window for ventilation. The restaurant with a terrace on the top floor allows the guests to enjoy the panorama of the city with a view of the Moskva River and “Ukraina” hotel.
Every guest at Butterfly hotel will get a business-class car for the whole stay period. That is why, in the underground parking lot, there is a car parking place allocated to each room and which can be opened with the card-key to the room.
