Boris Levyant has been in architectural business for more than 25 years, straight after his graduation from Moscow Architectural Institute in 1979. Having spent eight years at NIIPI (Scientific Research Institute of Master Plan of Moscow) he set up his own architectural company jointly with American firm SPG&A. It did not take him long to acquire the leading role in the field of corporate design, which at that point was represented in Russia by foreign architectural firms of highest calibre.
The subsequent years saw the completion of major jobs for foreign firms of international reputation as well as local business and government institutions.
The flow of important commissions grew steadily: corporate interiors for clients like Fleming/USB, Creditanstalt Investment Bank, White&Case LLC, or De Beers; showrooms for Porshe and Mercedes Benz, science park and Economics faculty building for Moscow State University.
In residential design ABD is best represented by several apartment houses near Tverskaya Yamskaya street in central Moscow and large scale housing development (200 000 sq.m) in Vitebskaya street. The size and architectural quality of Mersedes Plaza and several retail centres made them important landmarks in their respective surroundings.
Boris Levyant has an outstanding reputation in architectural circles; he is a prominent figure of Moscow Union of Architects, Moscow Architectural Society, Counselor of International Academy of Architecture and Professor of Russian Department of International Academy of Architecture. His works are frequently featured in architectural and real estate magazines.
