Throughout the last year A. Asadov’s architectural studio and “Grand Project City" were developing the project of “Konstantinovo” residential district for Domodedovo, Moscow region. The project originated a new tradition – contests within the studio. The architects selected the best project and added most interesting ideas of other participants.

This year, in autumn there was held an international architectural contest on the best project of Taipei Pop Music Center. The finalists (Studio Gang Architects was one of them) were announced in November, but their projects haven’t been published yet. Archi.ru presents the “Dragon Nest” of Asadov’s srudio – one of the Russian projects, participated in the contest.

Arrangements for the Olympic Games of 2014 are at full drive. In Imeretinskaya Valley a number of objects are being built at the moment, and a few other ones are in project. For many large countries the Olympic Games is a chance to demonstrate their national schools of architecture, but Russia is different. Russian architects are left to take personal initiative and make alternative projects for Sochi-2014. Such fighters for national atmosphere is A. Asadov’s studio and “Project-KS”, they have developed a conception of design of sport facilities named “sNezhnaya Russia”. Without breaking into the objects project they have created a smart “packing case” which is able to change the entire image.

Studio of A.Asadov have recently designed for Sochi one of their most daring and even most fantastic projects – hotels-islands raised upon supports above the water surface. These complexes are able to compete with the project of “Federation Islands”, plus solve a number of issues of the resort and future Olympic Games city. But the question is – will they dare to build them?

Recently the Town Planning Department of Cheboksary city passed the reconstruction project of territory of research and production complex “Elara”, designed by A.A. Asadov's architectural studio. In Cheboksary city there will be built a modern technopolis which will gather science laboratories and processing departments with as “green” architectural solution as possible.

Construction of “Centre of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Immunology” was started last year. Since it was approved by the Prime Minister, Putin, it has become quite popular. Must say, architecture of the centre, no doubt, vital from the medicine point, seems special - its colorfulness does not only entertain children but everything is planned so that it gives hope for recovery.

On “Arabia-Expo” exhibition organized in Moscow in autumn, architects from A.Asadov’s studio showcased their most fantastic projects, including those designed for the Middle East. One of them is the conceptual project “Aerohotel”, a parking station for flying hotel-dirigible. It will be placed in the height of a 14-story building over the Persian Gulf.
