For Ken Wai, architectural design can be defined as a continuous search for an equilibrium between sense and sensibility: Sense in terms of good judgment, based on practical ideas or understanding; and sensibility as regards good aesthetic judgment. The book begins with a brief description of this design approach to accommodate different requirements to generate an architectural solution that seeks a balance. It is followed by a catalogue of projects that have been developed based on these principles and applied to different building types that include: office, mixed-use, hospitality, residential, infrastructure, institution, interiors and civic architecture.
