Living places: Simon Architecture Prize 2026
The Living Places - Simon Architecture Prize, an initiative of Simon developed by Fundació Mies van der Rohe, has the aim of distinguishing excellent architecture that enhance spaces' capacity for adaptation, seeking the comfort of their inhabitants. Architecture is made into quality places for people in their daily lives: for working, for learning, for playing; it is architecture to be experienced!
Video, considered a tool for bringing architecture to the general public and for conveying the atmosphere of the place, is the main exhibit to be presented.
Categories
Collective Places: Places linked with shared, community or public life, where the experience of the space is constructed through interaction between people.
Personal Places: Places linked with our ideal of comfort, intimacy and ownership, where the relationship with the space is defined from individual experience.
Far from constructing exclusive categories, both propose a reflection on different ways of relating with places.
Participation criteria
Eligible works: Those completed and put to use between 1 January 2024 and 31 December 2025.
Geographic scope: Works built in the European territory (detailed in the rules), Mexico, Brazil, and for the first time, Morocco.

The contest allows users, clients, and any other citizen to propose works that they consider deserving of the prize. Application for this prize is completely free.
Submission materials
Video is the main exhibit, with a maximum length of 3 minutes. The audiovisual piece must be able to convey the atmosphere and life of the place.
