Архитектурная премия «CarlottaxARCHITETTURA» учреждена Союзом архитекторов провинции Катания, Фондом Союза архитекторов провинции Катания, Национальным советом архитекторов, планировщиков, ландшафтных дизайнеров и архитекторов-реставраторов (CNAPPC), Департаментом культуры муниципалитета Катания в память об итальянском архитекторе Карлотте Рейтано, безвременно скончавшейся в сентябре 2020 руководительнице CNAPPC. Награждаются работы, реализованные в Италии и за рубежом, в четырех категориях: архитектура, реставрация или реконструкция, интерьер и/или дизайн, а также проекты молодых архитекторов (до 35 лет).
The «CarlottaxARCHITETTURA» International Architecture Award is placed, in the context of the Italian panorama, with the aim of enhancing the design of contemporary architecture and professionals who, through an ethical and innovative approach to the profession, have contributed to transforming, promoting, disseminating and safeguarding the culture of the territory.
The Award was established to remember the great person of Carlotta, Architect Carlotta Reitano, her courage, her determination, her enthusiasm, her grit, her joy and finally her generosity and altruism. Already defined «the irreverent lioness of the Etna architects», who without cultural hypocrisy, as President of the Catania Architects Foundation, she strongly wanted the beginning of the season of architecture workshops, the enhancement of young architects, the contamination between the academic world, professions, entrepreneurship and politics to create opportunities for discussion on the themes of contemporary architecture. Carlotta, therefore, a light to keep on.
The Award pursues the aim of enhancing contemporary Architecture through the project, giving visibility to the Professional or Studio that has best managed to face the challenges that contemporary architecture imposes today, through an ethical and innovative approach to the profession.
The nominations for the Prize concern works designed and built in Italy or abroad by individual architects or associates of any nationality, enrolled in the professional register or in equivalent associations: each single candidate or associate can participate with only one work per category. A single work can be submitted, if the conditions are met, to several categories.
The application for the «Under 35 Young Architect» Category concerns projects drawn up by professionals registered with an Order of Architects, Planners, Italian Landscapers and Conservationists (section A) who fall into one of the three envisaged categories, Architecture, Restoration or Recovery, Interiors and/or Design.
Registration will take place at the same time of the upload of the documentation on the www.concorsiawn.it/carlottaxarchitettura-2024 platform, by completing the online form.
