Творческая резиденция в рамках веймарского фестиваля Genius Loci
Genius Loci Lab – это «живая площадка» веймарского фестиваля Genius Loci, посвященного искусству создания мультимедийных проекций на фасадах. Фестиваль будет проходить с 10 по 12 августа. Участники творческой резиденции соберутся за неделю до его начала и поработают над собственными видео-произведениями, «холстами» для которых станут исторические и современные постройки Веймара.
We are an experimental live stage of the Genius Loci Weimar Festival. The lab team spends the week before the festival with the invited artists. In teams, we will start with our AV-Creation on Monday, learn from each other and welcome everyone. If you like the idea of one week creative anarchy alongside other AV artists from all over the globe, we look forward to receiving your application! The Lab takes place from 06. - 12. August and we will put on the developed shows on our site from 10 – 12 August, at the festival weekend. For each team, we can provide travel costs of up to €200, basic accommodation, catering, space in which to work, facades, projectors, media servers, sound technology and brotherly/sisterly love. Basically, everything that’s needed for one week of unconditional fun.
Our venue, the "Office bridge" in the inner courtyard of the "Cafeteria at the Park" is not far from the other festival venues: University Library, Goethehaus, and Haus der Frau von Stein. It’s 12:00 AM and the students go for lunch in their cultural heritage cafeteria. You read correctly, the people of Weimar made their cafeteria cultural heritage in 2010. The GDR-building from the 1980s was once threatened to be demolished but now it will be renovated in 2019. But before that is going to happen, we will be present and make the courtyard glow. In between of the cafeteria, university and the students bike-workshop we find ourselves on the green space that is the cafeterias patio. Its where the freshmen meet their tutors on the first day of Uni, more specifically they meet at “the egg”. That’s the place, where we´ll come together as well. “The egg” actually is the sculpture “the bathing woman” by Prof. Hubert Schiefelbein, – shaped like an egg – the well sculpture is the centre of the courtyard and guards the masses passing by every day. We will wake up the place one more time in the dark, we´ll exchange mid-day for midnight.
