YouFab Global Creative Awards – награда, которая ежегодно вручается с 2012 за лучшие проекты в области искусства, архитектуры, дизайна, созданные и реализованные при помощи современных цифровых инструментов. В прошлом году лучшим было признано кинематическое платье, состоящее из тысяч уникальных компонентов, напечатанных на 3d принтере.
Evolving at an unimaginable speed, digital technology obscures the line between virtual and reality, and has started to significantly magnify the world of fabrication. It is expanding the world of creation that transcends the realms of bits and atoms, data and objects, academic and creative, sciences and liberal arts, the existing and new.
The revolution of fabrication using digital technology like laser cutters, 3D printers, and CNC machines, is only just the tip of the iceberg of what is to come. Moving forward, digital technology, which continues to evolve, will serve as an engine to further push the boundaries of fabrication.
Digital Fabrication (Fab) – now the meaning of this term is not limited to changes in fabrication using digital technology, but changes in the meaning of fabrication using digital technology, changes in the form it takes on, as well as changes in the relationship between fabrication and society are also drastically evolving.
The YouFab Global Creative Awards define Fab as creativity that transcends and combines the digital and physical realms, and in the form of an award framework it serves to discover and support new ideas and creative works that have the potential to alter our future.
