Concéntrico International Festival of Architecture and Design
Concéntrico – ежегодный фестиваль архитектуры и дизайна в испанском городе Логроньо, посвященный исследованию и переосмыслению городской среды. Фестиваль проводит конкурс на временные инсталляции, объекты и «интервенции», которые взаимодействуют с контекстом города, окружающей природой и местными традициями.
В 2026 конкурс включает три номинации:
Эфемерные агенты (Ephemeral Agents): участникам предлагается разработать временную «интервенцию», которую можно согласовать с разным городским контекстом. В этом году объектом работы станет парковка Ревельин в Логроньо – промежуточное пространство между исторической стеной, парком Эбро и современной застройкой. Проекты должны показать потенциал таких «промежуточных» территорий как точек преобразования городской среды.
Городская экология (Urban Ecologies): участникам предлагается разработать временные адаптивные решения, которые повышают климатический комфорт в городе и выступают воспроизводимыми моделями для разных городских контекстов. Задача – предложить легкие, быстровозводимые сооружения с ресурсоэффективным сезонным подходом, используя тень, воду, растительность или природные материалы.
Идентичность и вымысел. Нарративы общественного пространства (Identity and Fiction. Narratives of Public Space): участникам предлагается исследовать символическое и «повествовательное» измерение общественных пространств и показать, как городская среда формирует коллективную идентичность. В качестве площадки выбран центральный бульвар Пасео-дель-Эсполон, где история и повседневная жизнь горожан переплетаются в ландшафте парка, разбитого вокруг конной статуи генерала Эспартеро. Задача – создать арт-объект, который через язык, сценографию или новые городские «сюжеты» по-новому раскроет значение этого места и предложит иной способ его восприятия.
Concéntrico is an urban innovation laboratory that invites reflection on the city through architecture and design. Since 2015, it has carried out more than 180 interventions in Logroño, proposing new collective uses of space and fostering a shared urban experience. The 2025/2026 season expands this experimental spirit with three international open calls that bring into action the ideas explored in the book Concéntrico: Urban Innovation Laboratory (Park Books, 2025). Through them, the project deepens three key research strands — the ephemeral, the ecological, and the symbolic— to imagine new ways of inhabiting the city. The festival in Logroño, which will celebrate its twelfth edition from 18 to 23 June 2026, will once again be the meeting point where the initiatives and collaborations of the season converge, consolidating Concéntrico as an international platform for urban experimentation.
Open Call Ephemeral Agents
Open anonymously, this phase invites new strategies of ephemeral intervention, adaptable to different urban contexts. The selected proposal will be materialised with Concéntrico during the 2026 festival in Logroño and will be part of the publication documenting the programme. This edition will be developed around the Revellín car park in Logroño, a site set up in 2006 next to the 16th-century wall, at the edge between the historic centre, the Ebro Park and the contemporary city. Conceived as a provisional use, the space has remained an at-grade car park for almost two ecades, becoming an urban void of opportunity. Its intermediate condition —between heritage, landscape and everyday life— invites reflection on the potential of temporary places as catalysts for new ways of inhabiting and transforming the city.
Open Call Urban Ecologies
This open call proposes to develop temporary and adaptive solutions that respond to the effects of climate change in the city, generating replicable typologies that improve thermal comfort and foster social interaction in public space. In continuity with the Isla Climática Urbana project, this new phase builds on the Heatwave Strategic Plan of the Logroño City Council, which identifies 19 critical points of climate vulnerability. Rather than intervening directly in these areas, the proposals should imagine systems and strategies capable of acting in different urban contexts, both in Logroño and in other cities facing similar challenges. The proposals should present lightweight and reversible structures, with an ecological and seasonal approach, integrating vegetation, shade, water or natural materials. Among all submissions, one proposal will be selected by the jury to be materialised during the 2026 Concéntrico festival, in a location to be determined according to the strategy or typology proposed by the team, in coherence with the principles of the Isla Climática Urbana. The selected project will contribute to the consolidation of Logroño’s network of Urban Climate Islands and will be incorporated into a catalogue of seasonal solutions that promote an active, sustainable and community-based urban ecology.
Open Call Identity and Fiction. Narratives of Public Space
This open call invites reflection on the symbolic and narrative dimensions of public space, exploring how the places we inhabit contribute to the construction of our collective identity. The project will take place in the Paseo del Espolón, the civic heart of Logroño —a space where representation and history intertwine around its garden, its bandstand and the equestrian statue of General Espartero. In this context, participants are invited to imagine new urban fictions that transform the way we perceive this emblematic place and its role within the city’s collective imagination. Proposals may approach narrative, scenography or language as tools for design, reinterpreting the meanings of the site and activating new ways of inhabiting it. The selected intervention will form part of the projects presented in Logroño during the festival, establishing a dialogue between past and present through contemporary design.
