2022-2025 Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition. Phase II
Цель конкурса – поиск идей сохранения национальной и культурной идентичности в архитектуре и градостроительстве Испании. Состязание проходит в 2 этапа. На первом из 10 претендентов-муниципалитетов было выбрано 3 конкурсных территории: Бальтанас в Паленсии, Ирурита в Наварре и Ла-Фреснеда в Теруэле. В ходе второго этапа архитекторы и урбанисты должны предложить проекты по развитию этих территорий. Предпочтение необходимо отдавать использованию традиционных мотивов, местных материалов, а также современных технологий, которые, однако, не помешают подчеркнуть ценность регионального культурного наследия. Лучшие проекты получат шанс на реализацию.
The Richard H. Driehaus Architecture Competition has since 2016 promoted the practice of architecture and urbanism which, on one hand, give continuity to local traditions, and on the other, contribute to generating more beautiful and lasting urban fabrics, better integrated into existing architectural heritage. It is organized by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, INTBAU Spain, and the Institute of Spanish Architects’ Associations (CSCAE).
The Competition is held in two successive phases. In the first, Spanish municipalities are invited to submit possible subjects and sites and an international jury chooses the three that best meet the stated aims and criteria. In the second phase, of international scope, architects of any nationality are invited to submit architectural and urban design proposals for any of the three pre-selected sites.
Finally the jury selects and rewards those proposals that may serve as a model for better practice in architecture, urbanism and conservation of built heritage, especially in dilapidated architectural ensembles and urban areas subject to decay and/or threatened by depopulation.
Phase One
In this stage, organized by the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation, Spanish municipalities will be invited to submit possible themes and sites for the Competition. An international jury, including representatives from the various institutions collaborating in this initiative will choose the three entries that best meet the Competition’s goals and criteria.
Phase Two
International Competition, open to architects and urban planners of any nationality, who can submit proposals for any of the three sites selected in the first phase. Another international jury selects the best project for each of the three locations.
The second phase of the competition, of international scope, is now being launched, and architects of any nationality are invited to submit architectural and urban design proposals for one or more of these sites. A second international jury in which the various institutions collaborating in the initiative will again be represented will appraise the proposals, and for each of the three locations will select those deemed to best meet the competition criteria. The jury will also contain representatives of the municipalities to which the sites belong.
