Quechua Architecture Competition, Q.A.C., welcomes all participants to take part of this challenge which consists in presenting and developing a project that explores diverse fields of thinking and design. The challenge for this occasion is “CUICOCHA Lookout”.
Since the very beginning, humanity has tried to understand how to see the world and live in it through spirituality and faith. During history, many civilizations have developed their own vision of the world and show it through rituals, celebrations, texts, chants and more. Near 550 years ago, a big empire lived in South America under the name of Incas.
“Inti Raymi” (Sun-fest) is an Inca festival celebrated in the four realms, and even today several communities gather for the festival. Cuicocha was one of the locations for the celebration and Incas would bath in the waters to purify themselves.
Cuicocha, the lagoon of gods, remains a divine place where people still visit the crater to be amazed by its landscape and nature. It is truly a place to elevate the senses and separate yourself from earth, as such appears a challenge to raise these feelings and give a step further towards culture, history and sensations.
