Задача участников конкурса – разработать проекты по реконструкции трех залов Белградского выставочного комплекса и создания на их базе конференц-центра. Конкурсантам необходимо не просто адаптировать залы под новые функции, но также придать им современный архитектурный облик. Обязательное условие конкурса – участие в команде архитектора из Сербии.

The Competition subject is reconstruction, adapting of the existing Belgrade Fair Halls 7, 8 and 9, in order to form a conference center, which will be the necessary supplement to Belgrade Fair business offer. The proposed solutions have to enable independent conference center operation as regarding other Belgrade Fair features.
The project assignment excludes the possibility of intervention on the facility dimensions (regarding its increase by additional building, floors, etc.). The conceptual solution should include:
The traffic and ground level arrangement of the inclusive area in front of the halls, in order to form the festive reception flat plain with the related greenery, as well as the car parking zone at the underground level, with the adequate car a ccess providing. Within the traffic solutions, the economic - service entrance on the facilities back side and the existing fire protection way. The main access to the halls shall be oriented to the new designed flat plain and greenery.
Advancement of the technical quality, as well as the visual architecture identity through the new materials and design of all facility facades.
A new operational solution of the halls, as well as a new hall space distribution in accordance with the program and needs of the Announcer. If necessary, the possibility of a rational and useful modification of the existing structure shall be considered, in order to obtain more space flexibility, as well as the accomplishment of larger spatial units.

By the conceptual solution special attention should be paid to the sustainable cycle of the facility use, bearing in mind the environmental, social and financial perspective. An extremely important competition theme is the implementation of the installation sustainable systems (solar panels, atmospheric water collection for the use in the facility and the greenery irrigation included in the ground level solution proposal, etc.).
The conceptual solution shall provide mobility, accessibility and safety for all user groups. New technologies shall be implemented, in order to meet high technical and operational requirements possessed by contemporary conference spaces. The program and program conditions and recommendations for the conference center have been drawn up in accordance with the standards of contemporary business centers and the criteria to be fulfilled for potential membership in the international business center networks.
The conceptual solution shall include also the estimation of the investment value, clearly and by all stages, and it will be a significant factor in the final decision taking on the investment (and then also obtaining all licenses and approvals by the relevant authorities).
The proposed design solutions shall be in accordance with the modern architecture spirit and the style in which the hall facilities were built with the necessary contemporary, architectural and technological innovations and modernizing of the existing facilities.
The representative architecture of the facility reconstruction and adapting in this important part of Belgrade shall be based upon the evaluation of the existing historical, natural, culturological and operational meaning of this Belgrade Fair complex space.
