Участникам конкурса предлагается разработать проект уникального места отдыха для любителей захватывающих видов в калифорнийской «Роще Титанов», которая славится гигантскими секвойями. Здесь должны появиться все необходимые удобства для гостей. Главной задачей конкурсантов является минимальное вмешательство в уникальный природный ландшафт и обеспечение гармонии новых построек с окружающей средой.

When dealing with landscapes, we instinctively think of the beauty of a natural unspoiled space. In this case, the GIANT FOREST is a unique space with protected species and a great extension making up a celebrated nature reserve.
Height is the main feature of the place and of all the activities related to climbing. How to take part in a space that escapes our reach? Is the magnitude of an object given by its size or by the combination that creates it? reTHINKING believes that the collective learning process through the continuous conflicts and thoughts of retrospect make the project mature.
The images below these lines speak by themselves. In this case, climate and the place features have created a unique perspective of landscape, where nature majesty makes oneself smaller faced with such scale.
What could be better than suggesting an alternative to this space that proposing a different activity, a space of leisure, relax, entertainment, and joy for the breathtaking views lovers. This sense of freedom is rare in today world and that is what we require. In contrast to the city where the horizon is not at sight due to the fact that everything is built in height and width, the landscapes offered are completely contrary making the play with the limits a key under study.
The chosen place is far from hazardous; its formation and exceptional views make it a highly valued and protected landscape in its environment. As a natural landscape it is fragile and thus the depth of the intervention must be justified. Risking for a horizontal or a vertical intervention? In height, at the floor level or under the ground?
