The architects had a complicated "architectural and mathematical problem" to design nearly 3,000 apartments on 14 ha, observing the regulations, create comfortable environment and follow their credo: despite the density, architecture must be modern and notable. The first conditioned the meridian (north-south) orientation of the apartment buildings: most of them are parallel to each other, the architects wanted to provide all the apartments with sunlight and possibly eliminate the so-called "corner junctions” when constructions are joint at large angles there inevitably appear nonliquid today large apartments. Though in the project by SK&P there are П-shaped constructions and square, "joints" are low-rise public blocks and do not shadow the sunlight. Public units are located on the ground floors of the buildings that front the outside street, while ground floors of the others are occupied by apartments. Their dwellers wouldn’t’ hear traffic noise, the district was designed pedestrian, space among the constructions have lawns and planted hills. Facades design was mostly influenced by the requirements for insolation and illumination. In fact, according to the density of development demanded by the client the facades could only be white, otherwise they would fail the regulations. Most of the facades are either white or have light pulsating shades (they resemble lined graphs tables). Only the facades which front the main pedestrian street and the neighboring city-block cloud have a color, and Alexey Medvedev, the chief project architect, said that they immediately filled them with dark brick to vary white surfaces. The color dominants also became the highest in the district single entrance towers located at different ends of the site.
