Today in Moscow, there is still in progress work on a number of large-scale development projects, soon there will be new city districts. One of the projects is the residential city-block in the bottom-land of Ramenka river by Pavel Andreev. It was already highlighted by the agency of architectural new.
It was first announced in the summer of 2007, when the Mayor of the capital signed an order for a residential district construction on the cross of Minsk street and Kiev line of MZhD. On the area of 47.98 ha there will be about 500 thousand sq m of housing. The masterplan was developed by NIiPI of Moscow Masterplan, The client received all the numbers and started thinking about the architecture of their creation and set a contest. Pavel Andreyev’s studio won and they got not only an interesting project but a requirement to fit the Procrustean bed of urban construction regulations and provide the investor with high quality housing. The new district will include a low-rise housing city-block and two high-rise complexes with three towers in each. It is interesting that both "three" are each on its stylobate with a large underground space. Remarkably each of the complexes rest on individual stylobate and has a hugeundergraound space. Compositionally they are identical and have a singelstyle creating a gradual move to low-rise housing, located in the northern part of the site. Each tower has a clear and strong rectangular "classic" modernism silhouette, but due to the difference in height they create a “stone line” changing its outline , the towers form a sort of "brick structure.
