Anyone who ever bought a souvenir knows that the "Russian national crafts" and "modern design" are not very friendly to each other. Is it possible to bring a new life into something that is a real ornament of the national culture and history? Arseni Leonovich, an architect from Panacom bureau reply in the affirmative. This year, in May as a guest designer at ZAO "Russian art crafts” he started the process of introduction the industry with modern design in the town of Gus-Crystal, the oldest center of the glass industry.

First collections of designer vases by Arseni are appearing on the market. They have emphatically internationalist names - Dolce Vita, Odysseia, Enigma and targeted elite market segment. Each vase is truly unique, yet they share unparticular for Russian crystal softness of lines in combination with the general massiveness, have smooth and deep color blends (from cobalt to the tea, from transparency to violet), faceting as mat and glossy lenses, "overturning" an image. Arseni Leonovich guarantees there will new collections presented in Moscow soon, and there will be more. He promises more experiments, sometimes surprising, collection of glasses and the project of crystal matreshka dolls.
