Vietnam’s Coastal Architectural Heritage Faces the Impact of Climate Change

Vietnam, with tropical climate characteristics, is one of the area’s most heavily affected by climate change. Architectural heritage assets are a legacy from the past that provides a sense of place, local identity. They have been subjected to interaction with the surrounding environment and thus being weathered. Climate change accelerates this process, contributes to damage or completely disappearance of heritages buildings. This paper synthesizes current reports on the impact of climate change on heritage buildings in Vietnam, then points out the recommendation for solutions, especially in science and technology in minimize the impact of climate change on Vietnam's architectural heritage buildings.
