This paper examines the historical and cultural narrative of Ugarit as one of the most significant urban centers of the ancient Near East. Through an interdisciplinary approach combining archaeology, textual analysis, and urban interpretation, the study reconstructs the city’s development, social structure, and cultural practices. It highlights Ugarit’s unique contributions, including its early alphabetic writing system and its role as a hub of regional trade and cultural exchange. The paper also explores how material remains and written records together shape a comprehensive understanding of the city’s identity and legacy. By situating Ugarit within its broader historical context, the study underscores its enduring influence on the cultural and intellectual history of the region. Ultimately, it contributes to rethinking how ancient cities are interpreted through integrated archaeological and cultural narratives.
